Sunday School Announcements for April 6, 2008

NEW MISSIONARY PRAYER CALENDARS are out!

PLEASE take one and pray for our missionaries.

 

 

** Our Special April Wed Night Study, “God’s Living Word”, continues to the end of the month. If you missed our first lesson last week it isn’t too late at attend. Join us for Family Dinner at 5:30 and then at 6:30 in room S-100 for a special five week teaching by our Guest Teacher, Mark Gignilliat, Asst. Professor of Divinity, Beeson Divinity School.

** Spring New Members Class is coming up April 11-12th, Friday evening 5:30-8:00 pm & Saturday morning, 8:30 –noon. Please contact Christine Cox.

Kathleen Wintter -International Teams - Romania

Pray for Kathleen as she grieves the loss of her father.  Pray for Kathleen as she assumes the responsibility of “interim team leader”.  Pray for Kathleen’s time together with Bobbie studying the Design for Discipleship series.  Pray for Olivia’s husband, daughter and son to realize their need for the Savior. 

Monday, April 7

Carl and Becky Chaplin MTWLatvia

Pray for the team – for unity, love and a united vision for working in Latvia and Lithuania.  Pray for the MTW European Leaders this week – that they would be beneficial for furthering God’s Kingdom work through MTW in Europe.  Pray that God would “pave the way” so the Chaplins can move to Riga Latvia in July.

Pray they would hear clearly the direction God is leading them and be bold enough to follow Him.  Pray that Christ would be glorified and His church built up.  Pray for all the different transitions taking place on their team.

Pray for them as they deal with lots of responsibilities, especially with the starting up of several activities for this time of the year.  Pray that God would continue to be their source and strength.

John and Liz Steketee - MTW - West Africa

Pray for the medical clinic and pray for many of the people to be followed up in some way or other by the church leaders. Continue to pray for their neighbors S and M as they pursue friendship with them and openings for the Gospel.  Pray for the West Africa Theological Institute courses…pray for students to learn so as to be better prepared to preach and lead their churches.  Pray for the Steketee’s family in the US.

Steve Lindenmeyer—Campus Outreach—Thailand

Pray for the 25+ believers on the Thai Summer Project to really see that Christ is Worth It and that they will lay a solid foundation of faith in their lives.  Pray for the 10+ non-believers participating on the TSP to be moved closer to a personal relationship with Christ.  Pray for their transition into their new church building. 

Saturday, April 12

David and Becky Zimmerman – CRM – Atlanta, GA (ministering to church leaders)

Pray for courage to align their lives with the revealed will of the Father.  Pray for that as a team, they  would be Jesus to those feeling hopeless and discouraged from the weight of ministry.  Pray for the families and churches these leaders influence, who are waiting on the other side of their obedience.  Pray for several leaders who are in a time of transition and stand at the threshold of a whole new season of opportunity…pray they see and seize it.

Jon and Tracy Eide—MTWKiev, Ukraine

Pray for their son whom they recently adopted from a Ukrainian Orphanage.  Pray for his health and adjustment and for wisdom in setting boundaries with him, when he hasn’t had any in the past.  Pray for humble, repentant Ukrainian Christians.  Pray for God to bless their church with a building to serve their members and the people of their area.

Brad and Caroline Tubbesing-RUF –University of Alabama in Huntsville

Pray that the believing students will see the undeserved mercy and compassion Jesus showers on them.  Pray they might further comprehend this reality and it would fuel them to have hearts that break for the many on the campus who don’t know this God of mercy and compassion.   Pray that God would work in “Dave’s” heart so that he might see the truth of Christianity.  Pray that Brad and Caroline would continue to live the reality of the Gospel before their students, before they daughter Eliza, and before each other.

Jeri and Gloria Little - CRMRomania

Pray for Oleg  as he ministers in Moldova through “Happy.net”.  Pray that many young people will be reached with the message of Christ through this new and attractive place.  Pray for God’s protection for Little Texas and the staff. 

Wednesday,April 16

Mark and Bridgette Connally – Third Millennium – Jordan

Pray that the school where Mark is teaching will remain open.  Pray for Brigitte as Mark travels frequently.  Pray for them to be encouraged and to not be oppressed by all the bad news.  Pray they will see God turning all this evil into good.   Continue to pray for their safety and protection.

Johan and Stephanie van der Westhuizen - MTW – US and Chile

Pray for the smooth production of Spanish material at Third Mil.  Pray for the new seminaries, Bible School and missionaries that are beginning to use their materials.  Pray for their financial support.  Pray for wisdom in completing some important materials and being away to raise necessary support.  Pray for Johan’s studies (in his free time) that is so vital to further personal and ministry development, but that requires great time and effort to complete.

Charles and Carol DeWittMTWSpain

Pray for Charles and Carol as they equip leaders for Christ’s church in Madrid.  Pray for Carol as she teaches English at a small software company.  Pray for her ministry at the food pantry/closet closet.

Saturday, April 19

Dan and Tricia Dougherty – Barnabas International

Pray for plans and resources to come together to finish ministry visits to the Barnabas International staff.  Pray for the development of “Pastor in Residence” opportunities overseas.  Pray for Tricia’s family as they grieve for her sister-in law.  Pray for the Barnabas International Board as they seek direction for the future.

Betsy ChristiansenMTW Medical Missionary – Latin America

Pray for the refining power of the Holy Spirit in all areas of her life.  Pray that God grant her wisdom and discernment in her schedule of trips, trainings and final support discovery.  Pray for the teams He is building for Betsy’s upcoming trips to Mexico…especially in need of MD’s to comm. it to serving.  Pray for good health.

Andy and Bethany Benezette—Pioneers—Southeast Asia

Pray for continued health as they continue to plug away at the language.  Pray they connect with the right people and are able to share.  Pray for their parenting skills as they continue to try and raise Godly children.

Al  and Carole Meehan - Wycliff -

Pray for Al’s trip to Thailand this week.  Pray for him as he works with Wycliffe in Chiang Mai.  Pray for his time in the village of Thai Lai, where he will help with the fish farm development and other projects to give families in the village a sustained income.  Pray for Carole and her mother as they remain behind in the US

Lois Coleman - Grace House - Birmingham

Pray for the 24 young girls who live at Grace House.  Pray for the house parents.  Pray that through prayer, devotions, counseling and group sessions these will help the young girls work though their difficult situations.  Pray for plans to open a transitional living home for college girls. 

Thursday, April 24

John and Lynn Lehn - Greater Europe Mission -Croatia

Pray for good relationships with their neighbors.  Pray for Lynn as her back is giving her a lot of trouble.  Pray for continued unity and for more new believers.  Pray that each member of the church would find a ministry appropriate for their gifts.  Pray for the Lehn’s support base to remain healthy in the face of rising costs and the falling dollar.

Chip and Becky Carter—Africa Inland MissionRift Valley Academy - Kenya

Continue to pray for their family’s safety and protection.  Pray for Chip and his duties in student health at RVA.  Pray for his time at the hospital and as he seeks ways to improve the care of premature infants.   

Saturday, April 26

Cedric and Alicia Brown - Navigators - Church Discipleship - Washington D.C.

Pray they would continue to give God high priority in meeting with Him on a daily basis through the reading of His Word and in spending time in prayer.  Pray that the pastors they are meeting with will make the necessary changes to bring about transformational changes to the believers in their churches.  Pray that God will provide wisdom and Cedric continues to ask questions to pastors and their staff about seeing more transformational lives within the church.
