Missions:
Home Missions Weekend is almost here! And, our class has exceeded our goal (10) of Thanksgiving Baskets. We were actually able to sponsor 12 baskets for Home Missions Weekend – GREAT JOB!
Home Missions Weekend Schedule:
Saturday, November 19th
8:00 a.m. Arrive at Christian Service Mission at 8:00 a.m. (3600 3rd Avenue South) We will assemble the Thanksgiving Baskets with turkey and canned goods. Participants will then deliver the baskets either to Tornado victims or to those families our missionaries minister to in need.
5:30 p.m. – Church wide Dinner in Fellowship hall. Missionaries will be sharing
around the tables
Sunday, November 20th
8:30 and 11:00 Worship Service – John Croyle with Big Oak Ranch will be our
Guest Preacher
9:40 a.m. – John and Olivia Riddle with Nearness Ministries will be sharing in our class.
12:00 noon – Covenant members host missionaries for lunch.

Church wide Announcements:
Wednesday Worship
Rev. Danny Giffen will be teaching on “The Fear and Worship of God” at 6:30 p.m. for the last Wednesday night service of 2011. Fellowship Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. We will be studying Colossians in our Spring Wednesday services.
All Adult Sunday School – November 27
On Sunday, November 27, all adult Sunday Schools will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m.
Christmas in the City
We are partnering with Mission Birmingham in providing Christmas gifts for inner city children and families. Stop by the display in the church foyer today to pick up an instruction packet with a child’s name and “wish list” items. Gifts must be dropped off no later than November 20 under the Christmas trees located in the Sanctuary foyer and 1st and 2nd floor lobbies of the Children’s Building.
Hanging of the Green – November 29 and 30!
We need all helping hands beginning November 29 (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.) to decorate our church for Christmas. Please bring all greenery and we will begin our decorating in the Sanctuary. On November 30 (10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.) we will decorate the outside of our buildings. Please bring clippers, willing hands and new ideas. Nursery Bonus Fund
Please give as you feel led to the women who faithfully serve our church by caring for our children in the Nursery. This will help these women enjoy Christmas and cover their holiday expenses. Please designate your check “Nursery Bonus Fund”
Christmas Countdown
Ladies, you will not want to miss this year's Christmas Countdown. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 29th at 6:00 pm. We will gather in the Sanctuary to hear from our own Melissa Wood, then enjoy hors d'oeuvres and desserts, make advent wreaths, and see Christmas ideas to fill your heart and home with Comfort and Joy. Reservations are not required; however, to help us plan, please register on the sign up sheet in Sunday School and indicate if you will be bringing a guest!
