See below announcement from Phyllis Hamm regarding opportunities to be involved during Home Missions Weekend.  Please take time to read and consider how you might be involved.  (Childcare will be available for the dinner on Saturday.) In addition to the opportunities below, I will be hosting two representatives of The Lovelady Center for lunch at Cocina Superior (at Brookwood Mall) following the 11:00 service on 11/21.  Ladies of Foundations, you are invited to join us for lunch.  You will have the opportunity to hear from two staff members about the mission and ministry of The Lovelady Center.  For reservation purposes, please email me if you are interested in joining us for lunch:  laura@legalnurseinc.com.

Saturday Thanksgiving Basket Project

 

Arrive at Christian Service Mission at 8:00 a.m.

                3600   3^rd Avenue South   

We will have assembly lines going to assemble the Thanksgiving Baskets with turkey and canned goods.

There will be a place for children to draw and make cards for the recipients.

Participants will pick up a card already made with ministry name, destination, and address to deliver the basket to.

Everyone will probably be finished assembling and on their way to deliver their baskets by 9:00 a.m.

These are the ministries Covenant supports who will be receiving baskets:

            The Kings Home. 

   Hope Health Center

            Bessemer Classical School

            Restoration Academy

            Birmingham Hospitality Network.

            Grace House Ministries.

            The Lovelady Center

           

The project will be complete by noon or earlier.  This is dependent on how long you visit with the recipients, etc. 

 

Saturday Evening Churchwide Dinner – 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall

          Delicious Dinner, Fun and Fellowship, and Missionaries will share around the tables.

 

Sunday morning – 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. – Rev. Murray Lee Pastor of Cahaba Park Church will be our Guest preacher

 

Sunday morning 9:45 a.m. – Missionaries will share in our Adult Sunday School Classes
