Subject: Covenant Chronicles
We couldn't have been more excited about Easter Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian. (did you see the bagpiper!!). The staff and session wants to thank everyone for being a part of our gathered worship this week. It was our largest Sunday in the history of our church and each of us joyously shouted, Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed. If you missed the Sunrise service, you actually did miss it. It was my first ever to be a part of and I have to admit I was hesitant to jump on board (more because I'd have to be there by 5:30 am) but we were overwhelmed with the response. We had anticipated 150, hoped for 250 and had close to 300 in attendance. People from the community even came that heard at the local coffee shop or a neighbor invited them. It truly was a blessing! The weather was…well, perfect. Our pancake breakfast then was at capacity and both services had wonderful worship. Please thank Stephen Folmar for the hours he put into rehearsing and fine-tuning the orchestra and choir. Pastor Boyd's sermon on John 20 was excellent and can be listened to here: http://www.covpres.com/dlgMediaPlayer.aspx?id=668 The two points that were most stirring to me was the consideration of the mercy seat in the Old Testament and the cherubim along with the angels in the tomb at his head and feet. Wow! And the whole aspect of the Gardener. I suspect we will hear more on that latter theme. Again, thanks for being a part of our church. We love serving you!

For Your Enjoyment: Just thought some of you would like a copy of Gerald Bray's new book, God is Love. I got my copy last week. Pretty fun to see a guy who has preached at our church on numerous occasions to have such a great contribution to theology on the shelves: Here's an interview with The Gospel Coalition:
