Put this on the prayer list please. As most know my dad's been battling cancer of unknown origin for approx two years now. He was hospitalized in Winston-Salem, NC this past Monday. My sister (from Nashville) and I are both here. He has blood clots in his lungs as well as fluid in the lungs which make it very difficult to breathe. He also has internal bleeding. The blood thinners to treat the blood clot make the internal bleeding worse. At the same time until his breathing can be stabilized exploratory surgery can't be performed to find out where the internal bleeding is originating. They are attempting to drain some fluid off his right lung tonight. Since the fluid is thought to be cancer-related it will most likely recur. There is also a new tumor in his groin area. He has also switched from his previous experimental chemo to daily radiation. His doctors noted that they have been able to treat him for the last 2 years but it has "taken on a new life of its own" which is not good. Overall we pray for speed of diagnosis and comfort for him in this process. Thanks for passing this on and value the thoughts & prayers. I appreciate any messages but no phone calls please.
