DESIGNS FOR ETERNITY

"I AM HUGELY THANKFUL FOR 100 FOLD'S WORK"

100 Fold Studio received the following e-mail this month. It is from a mission training school in Canada that focuses on outreach to the Shan people group in Thailand.  100 Fold Studio is assisting the school in re-visioning their ministry and campus for the next generation of missionaries.  A few, brief consultations have yielded incredible results.  We are scheduled to begin construction documents next spring.  We thought this would be a great way to say thank you for your support over the past year!

Here is their letter:

"In Christian missions, perspective is everything.  In fact, eternal perspective is the vision that guides us each day. We give and invest our time, energy, and resources in something today which yields fruit for tomorrow - eternal Fruit for the Kingdom.

What if you could invest resources to send a young missionary on a short-term outreach, would it be a good investment?
Absolutely.

What if you could have three trained and then sent, would it be a good investment?
Without a doubt.

What if you were able to support an outreach team in their training, transformation, and gospel-sharing?
It would make a mark on Eternity.

Now what if you were able to invest in every individual, in every training class, and every outreach of an entire ministry for the next twenty or thirty years?
That would be something--
it would be a beautifully all-encompassing eternal offering.

That's what 100 FOLD STUDIO is doing by investing their valuable time into the YWAM Turner Valley building project. By their effort into restoring and expanding our ministry's buildings, they are making an investment into every person that is giving their life for Eternity
It's a great investment!

My name is Andrae Braun. As the YWAM Turner Valley director, I am hugely thankful for 100 Fold's work. They offer a kind of
'brick in the wall' that few people can give. We know this and are truly grateful for their eternal perspective. God bless you guys!

Once again, we are really thankful for your help in this - HUGELY thankful!"

Andrae

YWAM-Turner Valley represents 100 Fold Studio's first "sliding-scale" fee project.  A "sliding-scale" fee combines the ministry's ability to pay with your generosity.  This is a great milestone for our work.  As we are commissioned to design full-fee or partial-fee projects, we are able to cover our operating costs internally.  This allows for donations to be fully directed to support third-world projects or add new interns to the studio.  This is an encouraging step towards becoming a self-sustaining ministry.

This is just the beginning – we are already talking to ministries in Cambodia, Haiti and the Ukraine in need of architectural services.
At YWAM Montana, we are slated to start design work for the renovation of the Administrative Building, Staff Dormitory and a fully-funded Recording Studio.  Additionally, we are receiving requests for internships from architecture students graduating next year!

"I LIKE GIVING TO Y'ALL"

REASONS PEOPLE INVEST INTO 100 FOLD STUDIO

We have found that our partners and donors are already committed to sharing their resources with others as an expression of faith in Christ, even before they hear about 100 Fold (I Timothy 6:17-19). What they are excited about is the global impact of giving through 100 Fold Studio:   We've heard the following from our donors:

"I have been looking to support a global ministry
that has a clear, focused mission...

I understand the construction projects.
Plus, I am already familiar with your design work!
"
- Contractor

"I enjoy giving to 100 Fold. You share the results of the investment.
The ministry is literally about multiplication."

- Business Owner

"100 Fold impacts so many nations, ministries
and also the poorest of the poor."
Family Friend

"I wish I could do what you are doing...you are going for me."
- Design Professional

We would like to thank those of you who are making sacrifices in order to give to this ministry. We are humbled and honored to be entrusted with your gifts. If you are already partnering with 100 Fold, thank you, we hope to you will consider continued or increased support in 2011.

If you are looking to invest in a ministry that combines tangible construction projectswith Christian discipleship and has the potential impact of untold numbers of people around the world, we hope you will partner with us.

Our ability to participate in additional projects depends upon your support - especially as we begin to work in third-world countries.  As we consider projects ahead and the operational costs, we project a need of 20 more monthly donors in the $30 to $60 dollar a month range. One time gifts are also appreciated.

Please pray with us, that these financial goals will be met by this coming spring!

ON THE DRAWING BOARD

STUDIO 501 | WORLD-CLASS, WORLD-WIDE

This Fall, John and Eric have been working on Studio 501, a music recording and engineering facility, for YWAM Montana. This is a world-class recording studio where students come literally from around the globe to learn how to write songs, record and produce albums.  The studio has outgrown its current facilities and will be relocated to another building as part of the campus master plan.

Studio 501 has recorded over 70 album projects, hundreds of "demo's," and has hosted a radio program for over seven years.  They have recorded in over a dozen languages - including Arabic, French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Thai.  Studio 501 alumni have gone to work with the underground radio broadcasting in the Muslim world,
record some of the first known worship music in the Uighur language and play in bands like "The Afters." The impact this ministry has had and will continue to have on numbers of nations is truly immeasurable.

Last month the guitar producer for One Republic AND for U2's next album was at Studio 501 helping put together a worship compilation CD. It should be out in 2011! This is very exciting for YWAM and it will be a blessing for churches and ministries all over the world to have access to the worship talent in YWAM.

Rap-artist and sound-engineer, Kesh is currently part of Studio 501.  Saved through Christ from a back-ground of drugs, Kesh has invested the past years into learning the technical and artistic aspects of his trade.  Kesh hopes to reach the youth of his native South Africa through his urban, hip-hop message.  His latest video - featured below - was filmed in Los Angeles and produced ENTIRELY in the YWAM campus studios.

INTERN PERSPECTIVE

OUR FIRST INTERNS - IN THEIR OWN WORDS

We are so excited about the work God is doing through 100 Fold and the impact it will have
in Africa, Haiti and around the world! Since we have been here it seems the greatest impact may be right in our own studio...

Since coming to work for 100 Fold, intern Eric Hutchinson would say the experience has definitely changed his life.  Having completed his summer internship, Eric enrolled in YWAM's Fall 2010 Discipleship Training School (DTS) while continuing to work part-time with 100 Fold.  By completing the DTS, Eric (and other interns) will gain invaluable experience in cross-cultural missions and be able to work as full-time staff with YWAM and 100 Fold Studio.

Eric shares about his work at 100 Fold Studio

"It's a way to be able to combine my passion for architecture and design as well as serving the Lord and being able to work in full-time missions…

...100 Fold Studio has allowed me to realize that work and ministry do not have to be two separate things but are crucially one.  It has been so encouraging to live and work in such a close community that is so open and transparent and truly lives out the Gospel every day. God has shown me how he is most glorified when we experience Joy in using the gifts and passions that he has given us to the fullest.

Eric just departed on outreach to Brazil!  He will be serving with the DTS in the Amazon & in Rio de Janeiro.  We will provide an update & prayer requests in the LOOP in January!

_________________________________________________

Bethany Gibson, our new development coordinator, came in October for an initial internship.  She will be attending the January 2011 Discipleship Training School and working part-time for 100 Fold!  She has fit in wonderfully here. Her help with the 501(c)(3) application process and social media networking has been invaluable.  She also played a part in issuing our first digital newsletter "the LOOP" - all for your enjoyment!

Bethany says it best in her own words -

"100 Fold is a group of people trying to use their professional abilities in ministry in an avenue where you wouldn't normally be able to use your professional gifts…

...It means that for the first time, I can mesh the things that I love about the corporate world and a business mindset, but also use the things that I love about missions, traveling and using my language ability to further the grace of God in people's lives."

HUDSON FAMILY UPDATE

LIFE & MINISTRY IN BIG SKY COUNTRY

DECEMBER 2010
We hope you are all doing well during this holiday season. We are enjoying snow, hot chocolate and lots of new experiences here in Montana! We are in love with Big Sky Country - the changing of seasons has been incredible! The summer with gorgeous blue skies; the fall introduced Tamarac pines with needles turning yellow; and, finally - the winter! It's early December and we've already had about 10 inches of snow!  The pine trees are gorgeous with fluffy snow on the tips of their branches! The girls can sled, and it works (vs. their experiences in Alabama)! They go almost every day after school! They love it and it's great free entertainment!

THE HUDSON GIRLS
We celebrated Alex's 5th birthday on November 21st with a fairy party! We had face painting and it was a ball! Abby also had her 9th birthday on the 27th! She got her ears pierced…… finally! We went into the local Dairy Queen on her birthday and she had won a city-wide turkey coloring contest. That was a great birthday present! She is also taking ballet and was chosen to be in a special dance for the Christmas recital, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer. Anna Grace got some new glasses and she loves them! She is learning to draw horses and is very creative. She also spends a lot of time out in the snow sledding and building igloos. Yes, there is enough snow for an igloo! Asher is busy carrying babies all over the house and talking in adorable toddler speak. Her most recent heart-warming phrase when John or I hold her is, "lov mommy or lov daddy" over and over! It's priceless!

Face painting at Alex's birthday party!

MOM & DAD
Samantha has been asked to help out with the Women's Ministry here on campus. There are lots of new moms and about 70 women on staff! This has been an exciting and fun way for Sam to be involved. In October Samantha taught a course on wilderness first aid for the outreach teams' preparation. It was gratifying for Sam to use her nursing degree to serve teams preparing to go overseas. The Discipleship Training School (DTS) will be sending teams to Haiti, Brazil, Thailand, Turkey and Guatemala in the next week! Pray for them. Our intern, Eric, will be going with them to Brazil and doing work in the Amazon and Rio de Janeiro!

John is busy with work, getting 100 Fold up and running and wrapping up Hudson Architecture projects.  It's hard to believe it was one year ago in November that John first visited Montana and the vision for 100 Fold became a possibility! God has done so much in a year!  John had an opportunity to speak in the DTS weeks ago. He shared our story and the journey God led us through wanting to use our vocations in missions.  Students were deeply impacted, especially those who have the desire to use their profession in missions. We have since had many opportunities to speak into the lives of students. It has been very rewarding and encouraging for us both!

We feel privileged to be here serving with 100 Fold Studio. Thanks to all of you who have made it possible!  We pray you will be blessed during this holiday season.
