Sing in the Choir for Christmas!
The Chancel Choir will begin rehearsing music for Fall and Advent season this month. The choir and I invite all who are interested in singing Christmas music to join now and sing through mid December, a short commitment of 3 months. We rehearse Wednesdays from 6:30 ‐8:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Chancel Choir
is open to college age and above, with no audition required. Child care is provided.
Ladies Prayer Time
All ladies are welcome to join us this Sunday, October 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Leslie Brooks. Our focus will be praying for the transition of Covenant. Leslie’s address is 109 Hillsdale Road, Birmingham, AL 35213 and her telephone number is 870-4800.
Wednesday Worship
October 13, Rev. Danny Giffen will bring the message from James 4: 1 - 6, “Gospel According to James ” from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will partake of the Lord’s Supper during the service. Fellowship Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. and age related activities are available for children, birth through 6th grade.
Christmas in the City
Covenant will once again partner with Mission Birmingham to provide Christmas for children in need. In addition, we will expand our outreach to include sponsoring families in need within our own Nursery Staff. This church wide outreach will run from October 17 through November 21. Please see the display in the Church foyer beginning next Sunday, October 17.
Birmingham Hospitality Network
Covenant will once again host the families in the Birmingham Hospitality Network beginning Sunday, October 24 through Sunday, October 31. Volunteers are needed to bring and serve meals and for overnight hosts. Sign up sheets are in the Sunday School folder. Home Missions Celebration
Reserve the weekend of November 20-21 for our 2010 Home Missions Celebration. This year’s event is all-new with a church wide service project on Saturday morning, a Celebration Dinner on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m., and home missionaries as our guests on Sunday morning. Rev. Murray Lee, pastor of Cahaba Park Church (our first church plant), will preach in both morning worship services. Sign up in your Sunday School class to be personally involved as we reach out to our community to show we love and we care.
Created for a Purpose
A weekend filled with art projects and teaching designed to remind girls (3rd through 8th grades) that the true meaning of Christmas is Christ. Join us November 12-13 in Fellowship Hall. Brochures and registration forms are available in the foyer today. Cost is $75 for the weekend. Space fills quickly—so register soon!
