Our day of admission yesterday (Monday 13th) was 'fun' and the staff is incredibly welcoming. It was an easy transition, spirits are high. The stem cell unit is very nice and somewhat quiet due to isolation.
Maisie has adapted and jumped into this with both feet looking forward to what the day will bring. Today will be our first day of chemotherapy to prep Maisie for Transplant on the 21st. This is a process in which we are eliminating the T cells that are attacking her bone marrow. We have to pretty much wipe out her immune system so that her new blood cells can be received by her body and flourish over the next coming weeks.
We are so thankful for the support we have received from everyone. There are individuals and prayer groups lifting Maisie up each and every day across the country. We 'feel' the prayers and support and know that if you are reading this you care deeply for Maisie and the family.
Our prayers continue to be the same as previously posted including strength, courage, and daily peace with the process. We are tired, coming into this with our beautiful Sophie just a little over a week old. It is worth everything God has challenged us with to know we will all soon be back under one roof and close to each other!
Thank you for the love and support,
Love
Blaine, Jennifer, Maisie, Nora and Sophie
