FW: Update & Prayer for Julie Letourneau

I am forwarding this email from Phyllis Hamm. Please let me know if anyone knows this couple. I met them at our home missions conference. I'll be in touch with any needs but for now, please pray.
 Thanks, Patie Sitton

                Hi Todd and Patie,

I am forwarding you an email to send to your class.  Our missionaries, Matt and Julie Letourneau are with the Navigators at Alabama.  Julie went to Auburn….her maiden name was Sykes.  Someone told me several in your class went to Auburn with her.  She is pregnant and at UAB Hospital.  (The new Women's Center) Please read their email below and forward to the Foundations Class.  If your class can minister to them in anyway (love offering, taking food to the hospital, etc.) that would be great.

Thanks so much,

Phyllis

Subject: Update & Prayer for Julie

Hello friends,

I know that some of you may already know this, but Julie unexpectedly went into labor last night while away at her parents' house. Her water broke. I was away in Knoxville, speaking to our Navigator ministry at the Univ. of Tennessee.  She is 32 weeks pregnant.

The doctors in Alexander City (where Julie was) thought it be best to send her by ambulance to UAB Hospital.  I met up with her and her mom at 11pm last night.  At 3am, the doctors announced to us that they were able to successfully stop the labor, but that Julie needed to be confined to bed rest at UAB in hopes that she can make it to 34 weeks before they induce labor again.  The doctors are concerned about the baby's lung development, and are telling us that the baby may need to be put in NICU for up to 6-8 weeks after delivery.  The goal date for delivery is March 9th.

Will you please pray the following:
1. For health and safety for Julie and the baby...that neither would develop an infection
2. That the baby's lungs would be strong & developed - the baby weighs 3 lbs. right now.
3. That the baby would not need to stay long in the NICU after delivery
4.  that the baby wouldn't have any developmental problems
5.  for Nathan as we are away from him a lot right now and will be after the baby is born

As I said earlier, we are staying in Birmingham at UAB's women & infant wing.  room # 6217   room ph. 205-996-8608.  We will be here until the baby is born.  Thank you for all of your prayers.  We covet them.

In Christ,
Matt (for Julie too)
