For those who were not in Sunday School yesterday (like me), I wanted to give an update of the project. On December 30th we were able to go out to The Lovelady Center and give room 224 a makeover. We painted the room and bathroom, replaced ceiling tiles, cleaned mildew off the bathroom walls and made up the five bunk beds with brand new sheets and comforters. We were also able to decorate the room with a new rug, new lamps and a painting by Covenant’s own Mary Mellen. The room turned out beautifully. Most importantly we had an opportunity to meet one of the ladies who lived in the room and were able to pray with her. Her name is Susan. She asked that we continue to remember her in prayer as she completes her sentence and overcomes years of drug abuse. She has been sober for two years.
Thank you to all who supported this project by donating items, giving financially, offering prayer support and encouragement and an extra special thanks to those who came out and painted. Our makeover team included Aline Bou, Jennifer Day, Ginny Johnston, Kerry Leasure, Katrina Robbins, Paige Sprayberry, and
Stay tuned, we hope to do another room this spring.
