Update:Things are going well for the new year. The students returned with sniffles and coughs, as well as some math skills, gone. They all did poorly on a little math quiz the first week, and third grade teacher, Mrs. Hill, said, "I am glad we have the summer program here. If they forgot this much in just two weeks, I can only imagine how much they would forget over a whole summer." Alas, we are all getting back into the swing, and the students have not forgotten their manners and decorum lessons. They are still well behaved.
First grade teacher Mrs. Patridge had her students draw pictures of what they will be when they grow up, and she typed what they had to say and taped them under the pictures.
John Calvin said, "This is my van that delivers books. People will check out books from my van. I will have to do it after work. My other job will be in a cubicle."
Queen said, "I want to be an animal doctor when I grow up. I will sing gospel songs to them."
We will have a luncheon out here at the school on Thursday, February 12th from noon to 1 sharp. It is a great opportunity to see what we do. If you would be interested, email me to let me know. We would love to have a good crowd, and the students are guaranteed to amaze you.
