Foundations,
We hope you have had a great week! Please see the following for news pertaining to our class:
1. A message from our teacher, John Halsey Wood:
I would like to begin class with a short discussion of Polycarp's martyrdom (see attachment). As you read, you might ask yourself, why was Polycarp put to death? Did he do the right thing or did he act irrationally? What kind of people are willing to die for their religion? Should anyone be willing to die for religion? I am also attaching a copy of our hymn "Of the Father's Love Begotten".
2. Prayer Requests:
- Anna Averett's Sister's Sister in Law, Jesse, had a baby at 28 weeks
- Brad Hawley-pray for his recovery. He has been moved to Lakeshore and is in lots of pain
- Julie Martin's sister (Cathy) husband has been very sick for 2 weeks. They have 3 small children.
- Julie Martin's Aunt has lymphoma
