did not have a stroke. He had a pre-existing neck condition that was
aggravated, causing him to lose feeling and movement in much of his left
side, leading to a pretty bad fall. They were told he needs immediate
surgery to avoid the chance of permanent partial paralysis. Unfortunately,
the tests also revealed that he suffered spinal cord damage from the fall,
which prevents them from performing the surgery at this time. He will
remain in the hospital until the spinal cord damage improves to a point
that they can perform the surgery, which could be weeks.
He is in a great deal of physical and emotional pain. As a doctor, he is
used to being the one helping people and is not accustomed to, nor fond of,
being told he has to stay in the hospital for an extended period. Please
keep Buddy and Tait's family in your prayers. Specifically (in addition to
a full recovery), we would ask that this scare provides an opportunity for
the Lord to reveal His love and grace to Tait's family. Thank you -- Rob
