HOME MISSIONS FESTIVAL Sunday, November 23^rd!

We will have over 20 missionaries from around the Birmingham area share in the Adult Sunday School Classes. Please sign up to host a missionary family for lunch that day! Email or call Phyllis Hamm at phamm@covpres.com or 871-7002, ext. 130.

TWO MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

1) MTW MEDICAL MISSIONS:

In Trinidad, India, Peru – please see attached flyer for details

2) COLLECTING ITEMS for

our missionary Katy Hare, with New Tribes Missions. She will be going to Brazil in January 2009 and we would like to help her take some items that will minister to the children and women there. Please see attached flyer for items she requests (New items only please!) – A list is also posted in each class. PLEASE BRING ITEMS to PHYLLIS HAMM’s OFFICE by TOMORROW, MONDAY, OCTOBER 13 – so she can mail them!

* Sav-a-Life Walk-a-thon fundraiser is October 25 at Veterans Park, Hoover – an easy and wonderful way to be involved in this ministry. For details and registration, please pick up a registration forms at WELCOME CENTERS or ONLINE at www.savalife.org

* Our own Dr. Langston Haygood will be speaking at “moms” - & Moms of all ages are invited!!
When: this Tuesday, Oct. 14; Refreshments are from 9:30-9:45

Where: in the Fellowship Hall.

Topic: "Mothering: Taking Care of Yourself." He will touch on learning how to rid the “stressers" in your life, balancing your emotions, and maintaining Spiritual Freshness. Langston will speak promptly at 9:45. He will open up the floor to questions.
