Hope everyone is having a good week. Just wanted to let everyone know that we've scheduled our Christmas brunch for Saturday morning, Dec 1st from 9:30am to 11:00am in room 100 (our old SS room). In addition to being our social function for the fall, it is doubling as our ministry outreach as well. Operations Christmas Child/Shoe Box Ministry is detailed below in the invitation from Sarah and KC Squires. It should be fun for the kids to decorate the shoe boxes during the brunch. Detailed via the Operations Christmas Child website are suggestions of what to provide in the way of gifts in the shoeboxes themselves, and what not to pack in the shoeboxes. If you plan on coming, please RSVP to Sarah Squires at the email address below, and, if you are coming, an idea on what you plan on bringing for the brunch (please come even if you don't bring anything!!). A casual morning of fellowship, food and the opportunity to participate in a special missions project, Operation Christmas Child
To Children in desperate situations world-wide, Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope through gift-filled shoe boxes. This program of Samaritan’s Purse gives us an opportunity to be involved in a hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Please bring one or more shoe boxes filled with simple children’s gifts or items. Gift ideas and additional information may be found at www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC . Our children in attendance will have a special opportunity to participate in this project during the brunch.
